| The start of my labor with #6 |
Motherhood is indeed the longest labor of our lives.
I started writing a manuscript based on this very idea, and it is because of the thoughts I began to express in that manuscript- words poured forth from the very depths of my soul- that I decided to begin a new blog.
Labor, as in bringing forth a child from the depths of our being, usually finds us in the care and encouragement of another- or others- who usher us into motherhood for the first time, or for the umpteenth time. The support from our husbands, our midwives, doulas, nurses, OB's, sisters, friends, etc, lend a stability and strength we might not know otherwise.
So, too, do we find ourselves aching for this throughout our vocation of motherhood, and in life.
I hope in this blog I can give you even a small fraction of what you need, inspired by the Lord's whisperings upon my heart, over a decade of experience as a mother, and my heart-felt desire to encourage you along in your journey. Let's face it, we ALL need a little help and A LOT of encouragement along the way! I don't have all the answers, I am still learning as I go. I will never have all the answers. But I do have some. And if nothing else, I have an ear, a shoulder, an honest and often raw word to lend and a deep desire to give you a smile or a little nudge along your own path.
I hope you will oblige me my attempts at making a small
difference down here in the trenches of motherhood. I also hope you will engage me in
conversation. I’d love to hear from you!
